Insur Group was established in May of 1987 by James R. Taylor to provide specialized insurance coverages to the Independent Auto Dealer.  The Kansas office was opened in 2004 to provide continued support to our Kansas customers. 

Over the years we have added several specialized programs:  Commercial Child Care operations, Child Welfare agencies, Camps, and Social Service/Non-profit agencies.   

James R. Taylor began his insurance career in 1971.  He earned a Bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Colorado in 1972.  He graduated from the Aetna Life and Casualty home office course, which was the "boot camp" of insurance agent training in its day.  He owned and operated University Hills Insurance Center, Inc. until its sale in 1986.  After working for a large agency, the lure of ownership of his own business was too strong to overcome.  Insur Group  was incorporated on May 1st, 1987.  James is a member of his local Optimist Club, and is an avid scuba diver.  He has been involved with helping disabled persons enjoy scuba diving at his local dive shop and abroad.  He also teaches beginning scuba diving for kids.

Dustin Taylor joined Insur Group in 2002.  He earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Metropolitan State College of Denver.  He was a US Army medic and Field Artillery Officer prior to joining Insur Group.  He is involved with Boy Scouts at the unit, district, and council levels. 

Vicki Hare joined Insur Group in 1997.  She earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Illinois State University.  She was an insurance company underwriter for 12 years and specialized in underwriting commercial policies.  When her kids were younger, she owned and operated her own day care business for about 12 years.  Vicki is fully licensed as a Property and Casualty insurance agent.
